LAW DAY 2018  Separation of Powers, Framework for Freedom.
Time:         1- 3 pm 
Location:    Lowell District Court 4th session

This year's theme, as chosen by the American Bar Association, is "Separation of Powers, Framework for Freedom."


High School students are invited to submit an essay on this topic with a chance to earn a
scholarship prize. The students may elaborate, define or interpret the topic in any way they can
imagine. Other guidelines:
• Essays should be no longer than 3 pages, typed;
• Essays should incorporate the theme in a meaningful way;
• Essays will be judged by a panel of the Greater Lowell Bar Association;
• Awards will be given to the top three essays;
• Award winners will take part in a ceremony at Lowell District Court on May 4, 2018
from 1-3 p.m. They will have the opportunity to read their essays in court for a
chance to win scholarship money.
• The winner will receive$ 1,000.00 and the 2 runners up will receive $500.00 each.
• Essays should be submitted via email to ldantas@publiccounsel.net
• The Deadline to submit essays is April 20.
